I was born in Invercargill to two loving parents, and am the oldest of three. When I was 9 months old we moved to Riverton, where we lived until I was 5 and half. I began my schooling at Riverton Primary School. My parents, my sister and I moved to Five Rivers in 1986, where I attended Five Rivers Primary School. I then went on to Northern Southland College, where I completed my schooling, finishing in 1998.
Once I had finished high school I moved to Queenstown for a "Gap" year. While living in Queenstown I did many jobs ranging from housekeeping, to being a check out chick. I was then accepted into a Degree in Sport and Recreation, so moved to Invercargill for this. As part of my final year of my degree I was required to do 300 hours work experience in the industry. I completed these hours at Adventure Southland where I took on a full time job in 2002.
I meet my husband to be in 2005, and moved to Gore not long after that! We were married on the 16 May 2009. At the end of 2009 I applied to the University of Canterbury Teachers College, where I was accepted, I began working towards a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Primary) in 2010, and graduated in 2014
